Introduction
In Brasa Doirada, voices and string instruments bring Portuguese roots music into a sociable atmosphere. Alentejo is a reference point and the Algarve a meeting place for a quartet combining traditional songs with original material. Guitar, cavaquinho, mandolin and acoustic bass accompany songs with room for emotion, humour and the desire to share. For theatres, popular festivities and cultural programmes, the proposition can connect attentive listening to original arrangements with the familiarity of traditional songs. Its appeal lies in that relationship between roots and interpretation: preserving music’s communal spirit and giving it a stage form that keeps closeness as part of its identity.
Career
Formed in 2015, Brasa Doirada grew from friendship and a love of traditional songs. Nelson Law, Pedro Dias, Nuno Higino and Daniel Cordeiro turned early musical gatherings into a stage project, preserving their connection to Alentejo roots. The album “Reserva 2015”, released in 2021, and the original “Linda Moça Alentejana”, released in 2025, locate different moments in that career. Performances at Teatro Lethes and Teatro das Figuras in Faro show the meeting between popular song and their own arrangements. From the initial gatherings to the creation of repertoire, sharing remains a connecting thread. For each proposal, Booking & Beyond confirms the show’s context, line-up and the conditions needed for its presentation.
